ok, by now many of you have noticed photobucket seems to be phasing out anything free. first it was full resolution copies of one's works, now, its hosting and linking, therefore I propose this.

if you have an account somewhere else besides photobucket and wish to make available links to your gallery(s), comment below the second post of this thread, please include the link, and where and when I have the time, on post two, I will add those links to a I guess you can call it, a directory.

if you dont have an account with another site aside from photobucket and wish some help setting one up, please, speak up, someone on the boards will be more than willing and able to help you.

all I am doing is centralizing links to galleries, each and every one of you retains complete control of your own works.

the entire point of this is to both direct my fellow artists to alternatives that are friendly to those with shoestring finances, and to gather the links to the various artist galleries in one area so my fellow artists dont need to sift through 30 or 40 pages to find that one specific user's gallery that you swear is there but cannot find.

to further make it easier for my fellow artists to locate specific links without having to leave a given section of the forums, this will be a global thread.

on the subject of alternative hosting sites, if you find or are using one that you feel would be worth sharing, please include a link, how easy it is to use, if it allows offsite linking, any paid options etc.

Oh I'm still here, I never left, just don't post much as I'm working on an RPG Universe of ships (32 as of now, some minor mods, some major, & some all new designes), still have a few more to go, then sub-craft & Tracked Vehicles to go with my APE family of Wheeled Vehicles!!

I would have had this finished Nov/Dec last year if my PC & External hard drive hadn't been fried, recovered a lot of my stuff from people I'd sent it to for comments, but lost a LOT & had to start over, still have to re-wright all the fluff/stats to go with them as well.


Thinking I might start posting some of the ships I've already done in the near future, once I've got an overview of the universe worked up for their context, just to get some newer content on the forum.

Once I got to a certain point with Lady H, I realized that a disk crash would make me want to hurl myself against the wall (a cookie for whoever gets the reference). So I picked up a Synology Diskstation that had Cloudstation capability. It runs part of the disk array as cloud storage and you run the Cloudstation app on your Windows/Mac/Linux/iOS/Android device. You save the document to a folder and the system automatically copies it to the array and any other device that's got access. Pretty slick.

Actually put my stuff from Photobucket to here last year actually mostly all my paper drawings

I use http://postimages.org/. It's completely free, extremely easy, and for years now has given me no problems and has been stable.

(Fixed, I hope)
