started work on this beauty on October 18, 2009, 10:07:30 pm, on the swda site, again, thank you lbraden for putting me onto that site, here's the wip thread:

http://www.swdesignalliance.com/forum/index.php?topic=1476.msg39440#msg39440

anyhow, she's an armed version, built using an older model of the consular class frame.

full briefing details in the wip thread link above, meanwhile, here's a pic of what has fast become my favorite corellian engineering corporation design:

Image

credit for the base frame and very grateful thanks go out to Commander Cody for permission to use this beautiful ship.

she's likely to be a long term project, with work on the internals on hold until they are completed.

well, had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic i was prescribed, and am currently sick enough to wish for a quick, painless end via headshot.

wont be touching ANY of my projects for the next week or two, as I am on doctor ordered bed rest.

.....

he he, he shoulda been more specific and not left me any loopholes, as he said nothing about reading on the internet, lol.....

Only allergic reaction to an antibiotic I've ever had was the worst headache of my life last year.

damm, Nice job

I can't remember having an allergic reaction, rather, i had taken a medicine for concentration, and it could cause epilepsy in about 3% of the people, it turned out, that i did not belong to the big piece of the pie, rather the small piece, no one wants, luckily i had friends nearby who knew how to handle the situation and i've since then switched to other meds.

Anyhow, would you mind if i took the base frame of this, and modified it, ofcourse giving credit to you both.

if your going to do that you may want the original on the SWDA site, it still has the areas fully shaded

The base artwork, basically the hull belongs to Commander Cody over at SWDA, you'll have to ask him for permission.

It's damn fine work, check out the shading on the angled comm dish, man that's dedication!

it's the shading that gives me hell when I start a project on swda, I simply find it easier to do away with it, and still get the result I want.

good news is I've been switched to different meds, and gods I hope I get better soon, going a little stir crazy here.....

ok, I'm cheating here, with the fore view of the weapons control room, namely the physical footprint.

by keeping to the footprint of the cockpit on the dorsal view, I've negated the need to alter the top view too much with that regard.

this is where I am currently at:

Image

originally, I was gonna get all fancy with the weapons control room, but decided simplicity would work better.

while incomplete due to the lack of a nose turret for the fore view, I'm classing the star wind as completed.

if someone cares to donate an appropriate nose gun, 4 barreled mind, I will be very grateful, and will add said person to the list of credits for this ship, which has, despite the occasionally irritating sections, been a true joy and quite fun to work.

internal views will be coming soon as the ship's original artist posts them.

enjoy!

brief bio:

The Star Wind is a production prototype testbed, one of 10 off the first run taken as such, the Star Wind was to be fitted as a lightly armed escort.

her weapons load means she's not a frontline ship, and is only sufficiently armed to fend off most light to medium fighters, and even a few decidedly non-specification armed freighters.

she has nowhere near the power capacity required for frontline duty, and instead relies on her exceptional speed and agility when faced with more heavily armed opponents.

her development was shelved for years, but after the destruction of the Radiant VII, a diplomatic classed vessel, at the hands of the trade federation, the decision to proceed with an armed variant of the consular class was green lighted by the CEC executive board.

thus, the development of the Star Wind proceeded.
