Well, I've been busy doing some ship designs based on the vessels seen in the new Trek movie. I tried to get them as accurate as possible, but the only one I know I got spot on is the Enterprise herself. They may not be the biggest drawings in the world, but hey...that's how I roll apparently.
Anyway, here is the new Enterprise:

The Kelvin:

The Quad design (2 nacelles, 2 engineering hulls):

The Trike (3 nacelles):

Another design I just found out was actually another Quad, but it still looks cool as I have it:

And of course, the JJ treatment of some of the Franz Joseph classics:

Later, I'll post the parts page if anyone wants to try their hand at some designs. Enjoy!

these are verry well done!
i've been looking for these ships that were seen in the fleet sent to romulus, but because the movie is so fresh no screenies have come out.
i really liked the tri ship in the movie, and your pictures are excelent at showing it!

Thanks! The reference material I had to go on was the image of the spacedock scene, and screenshots from a cam version of the movie. I didn't download the cam version, but someone was kind enough to give me some screenshots of some of the ships.
There are still some discrepancies here and there that I'll work on fixing down the road. Like the roll-bar on the Quad design, which I've realized recently is more of an arch.
Anyway, I'm also going to work on different variations using the main components and play around with as many designs as I can. I just have this thing for spaceships I guess!

Here is the Dreadnought version of the JJ Trek design. I have to admit, I'm beginning to like this design more and more...of course my heart still belongs to the Classic (oh all right then, the 1701-A...but you know what I mean).

Enjoy!

Shouldn't it still have the hangarbay on the aft?

All of the Franz Joseph designs I had for reference had only one shuttle bay, and it was on the front (weird, I know). However, now that you mention it I think I do remember seeing one dreadnought design that had a bay on front and one on aft...but that was a long time ago that I saw it.

Ha ha! that's probably where I saw it then. Funny. I don't know how I could forget seeing it there. However, all of the FJ stuff I have on file just has the one bay in front. I might do up another design however with two bays as well. I'll put that on my list of designs to play around with.

The Franz Joseph DN only has the forward bay. There are some Fed CV designs, like the Coronado, that have doors fore and aft.

Here is the JJ style Miranda Class. I admit, I didn't "JJ" up the roll-bar very much, but I was lazy.

Enjoy!

That is sexy. Very sexy.

I found that hull part I thought I was referring to, it did have the one shuttlebay.

The work is excellent, but the more I look at the overall concept, the more I get annoyed by the out of proportion nacelles. Whats up with that? The shape is fine, but their basic scale is like 50% to large? You have apparently faithfully rendered the Enterprise, and the others seem to be in the same ethos, but those nacelles are...well...massive!

Still, keep up the work chief, I m anxious to see a JJified Excelsior, though I realize its technically from a different design ethos :thumbsup

Your JJMiranda looks very well done, and the oversize nacelles don't really detract all that much from the look. If anything I'd say you need to scale back the weapons pod and bring it just a hair closer to the main hull as well.

The "oversize" look of the nacelles comes from the "dip" below the bussard collectors, which is a design element of the ship as opposed to a scaling error.

Also, if this ship is being based off of the "original" construction of the Enterprise, shouldn't this be the Surya-class as opposed to the Miranda-class, which was based off of the Enterprise-A? (That would also mean no rollbar as the Surya didn't have one, in which case I'd put the torpedo launchers on the front ends of the nacelle pylons similar to their position on the Enterprise's neck.)

My suggestion is, use the JJ as insperation for a new Enterprise A/B/C/D/E! I'm thinkin' about making the D just for fun, but I thought it'd be a nice suggestion since theres so many JJ posts.
