Yeah, I'll probably do that; should be easy. Keep in mind these things are oversized and retractable compared to TOS/TMP phaser turrets, so they have extra weight, complexity, and firepower. This is a reflection of my ship being a rather bigger stick than the TOS/TMP/nTOS canon versions.

EDIT: I got the pew pews out of that blue background. Took a bit of work!

Testing something with a saucer separation.

Looks feasible, I wonder what the first class to have a separating saucer was, I know the Excelsior-class could as it's in the Novel of Star Trek: Generations.

The original Connie in TOS had a separation sequence that I remember being mentioned, though never shown aaaand I think it was a only an emergency separation and a one way deal, it couldn't reconnect without a space dock. Don't quote me though, I may be wrong!

The problem with both the Connie and Excelsior saucer seps is there are only one set of impulse drives until the Excelsior refit, so a separation is always going to split the propulsion up, one will have warp but no impulse and vice versa. Would still work in a lifeboat situation thought.

Yup, yall are both right. My ship's basically designed to address both problems.

Thanks Kaiser. I just took the basic Ent-D saucer sep idea, then modified shapes until it fit. This saucer sep idea is also one of the reasons the saucer sprouted its own impulse engines in an earlier design pass. Main reason is I wanted to continue the impulse deck's aft edge curve further outward to kill the 'buck teeth' look it had previously.

I'm surprised I got a result that wan't completely ass-y. I rather like this 'eagle head/chrome dress shoe' shape the resulting stump took! Now I have to design and implement docking latches for this thing. That'll be fun. I'm also thinking of adding two phaser turrets on the stump's dorsal surface mounted on 45 degree angles.

Whipped up a pennant design at random yesterday after my workout. You'll see one on the ship for her next WIP. If this tastes like TOS, it's supposed to :D

EDIT: now with moar deviantart.

EDIT2: I accidentally two versions of the thing.

Thanks Kaiser! :D

Did a few things here and there that just barely qualify for a new WIP, so here goes.

Thank you. I got in a 'Moar Text, moar TOS!' mood with the hull markings and ship's nickname.
