Here's my current progress on an M4 Intrepid-class starship. For now I'm going for screen accurate, or at least a blending of features between the physical and CGI versions of Voyager, but once I've finished at least three views I think I want to create either a "refit" version based on Mark Rademaker's previews, or my own interpretation to bring the design out of the 90s. Comments and criticism welcome.

I wish you the best of luck, starting from a blank page always daunted the hell out of me!

The Intrepid class they used was never my favourite, the tiny warp nacelles made the design look way too front heavy, but that's just me.

I always wished they'd used the study model in the show.

Looks nice and challenging with all those compound curves. Also, photobucket blows chunks nowadays.

How so? I've never had any problems with it. And it's always been better than Image Shack.

50Stone, your link isn't working but I know the design you're talking about. There are aspects to that design I like, but more I dislike than not. Voyager was the first scifi show I started watching as a kid (I discovered it the week before the series finale, but it ran reruns for a few years after), so Voyager the ship has always held a special place in my heart.

I also have a significant start on an M4 Nova-class starship, but I need to tweak it a little before I start posting my progress.

Here's an update. The area around the deflector dish housing in the front is pretty tricky, but I should hopefully have it figured out in a day or so.

Another small update. Aside from finishing off the section under the saucer I think the outline for the side view is basically finished, and I've started adding in some little details. Next will be getting a start on the other two major views, top and front.

And another update. The cutout around the observation deck windows at the front of the saucer underside is giving me some grief, but the rest of the outline has really come together. Time to start adding more details.

I'm still working at it, just trying to get the profile finalized before moving on to detailing any other views.

Sorry for the late comment, but progress looks great so far. :-)

Would love to see a well-done "refit" version as described in the "Full Circle" series of novels.
