Say, Conan, how about upgrading the Aerilon Guard to Scythe Mk 3s? Those Mk 1s have to be getting pretty worn out by now.

Well, it looks like you've got a pretty solid handle on it, Conan, to judge by the latest quartet of pirate Vipers. Thanks. Also, I just now realized it, Canis, Conan, but there's two separate linearts for the Mark 6 Viper... we need to decide one way or the other regarding which one we're going to go with.

It would be a good idea to have a site "official canon" Viper lineup I guess. If someone wants to deviate, more power to them, but having a Mk I-VII (or more) would be good for the various writers to base their fics off of. Not required, but convenient I guess.

I strongly oppose having an "official" fan canon. The last thing I want is to have anyone think they have to follow someone else's canon that they don't agree with.

SA-16 Sideswinger is first introduced two years after the first Cylon war. It was first space superiority fighter designed and build by Caprican North Star Aeronautics. It roots are from pre-Cylon war Caprican Saber and Viper, as well as Sidewind(predcessor to Sidewinder). This one man fighter prove to be well balanced fighter, outmanuver the standard Mk II Viper. Armed with two standard cannons used by Vipers and by third smaller gun(added after production start) It was pritty deadly fighter, and with capabilitiy to hold between four to eight missiles it was hardly beatable, until Mk III Viper start rolling out. In total only a small batch of about hundred was build, most of them sold to private companies for protection. Some ended in private hands. Although CNSA build excellent fighter it was surpassed by Viper production and their proven reliability. But this fighters prove themself excellent against pirates and some were in service on the eve of second Cylon war.
