Canis is a toaster... This explains so much... :shock:

I'm working in Illustrator, converting the files through P'shop and saving them as straight jpegs. I've plenty of experience with web publishing and online media, my question is - is anyone else seeing the images as pixelated, or do they come out sufficiently sharp on your screen?

we work and save in .png, it doesent pixelate when saving and most of us use MS paint. Try saving your original as PNG and repost.

Great backstory and excellant work. SInce there are so few Cylon ships more are always welcome, I for one believe the cylons would keep everything in service til it was expended in combat. So these babies could still be around.

Armament and complement would be nice to know

Yes, there aren't many Cylon designs about the place, are there? Where's the love for the toasters?? :?

I have been deliberately vague about just what these ships are packing, as I created them specifically for a game concept.

Unfortunately, these ships have not seen simulated combat yet, and until they do, I cannot know if they need more/less firepower, better/weaker defences, more/less smallcraft, etc, etc. Because of this design process, the numbers must be fairly nebulous for now.

The hassle with doing that is, while I know the roles each ship must fulfill in terms of games design, if I specify exactly what weapons (and the number of those weapons,) each ship carries, I 'lock' them into a specific capability, which may upset game balance, and make them unplayably too weak, or, too powerful.

Still, when I DO manage to work out exactly each ship's capabilities, I'll post the info. Maybe when I've got enough ships finished, I'll compile it all into a PDF 'Cylon Ship Recognition Guide' or similar.

Yeah I was gaming BSG for about 2 years or more, I really loved the Genre I tried several different systems. BSG-SFB, FCS, STar-Blazers/BSG MOD. WHat system are you using?

I ended up with Huge fleets for both the COlonials and the Cylons and we had some crossover ships from Star Wars and Star Trek, crazy but fun.

I have almost all the Colonial and Cylon miniatures that have been made by most all the companies and builders. Ravenstar, Bergstrom, Armoury, IWM, Ninja-magic and Mini-model madness, plus a ton of Fox fighters and kitbashes as well. And stat-ing them all out was an ongoing labor of love.

I was always looking for more Cylons because of course there are so few canon designs shown and everyone wanted to make Colonials, which I feel there are too many designs and everyone is usually an example of a bigger better re invention of the wheel. I like most of the non canon stuff but a lot of times question the need for another battlestar class in a fleet order of battle thats already heavy with carrier type ships. Carriers cant escort or defend other carriers is my personal axe to grind and cruisers, Destroyers, Frigates and Battelships would be just as vital and easier to play. ( Yes I invented pseudo classifications for those types Cruisestars, Patrolstars, Escortstars, and Gunstars respectively and had some interesting one offs Strikestars and Missilestars) frustratingly every time I got new models I would have to stat them and classify them, this was really time intensive plus painting the ships (which I came up with a really fast and dirty way of doing that). I kind of wanted WW2 in space reminescent of the huge carrier battles fought in the pacific against the IJN. WHich seemed to paralell what wasshown on screen pretty well, which is why a lot of canon stuff got changed Vipers have jump drive, what good is it for the Raptor to have it if the Vipers didnt, so your strike package goes in un-escorted without fighters yeah the bomber pilots are gonna love that and die in about 2.5 seconds...etc etc.

More Cylon escort types were really needed. I think I finally had like 30 classes of Cylon ship. and about 50 classes of COlonials plus fighters bombers and shuttles.
