Capricorn Class Battlestar
Designed and launched as a command and control vessel for the Caprican Navy, the Capricorn class Battlestar would be an elongated Ares class Battlestar with additional facilities for coordinating Caprican battle groups.
The hulls themselves would feature a number of changes for structural support, most notably a wider neck, a larger “alligator head” bow, and an additional set of Flight Pod arms. The ship would also feature longer flight pods, carrying additional Viper MKIs for defensive purposes.
8 of this class would be built before the outbreak of the First Cylon War, suffering heavy losses during the conflict due to their value. The Atlantia class design team would follow almost the same formula when building them as replacements for these ships, with the final surviving ship being retired weeks after the signing of the armistice.

Delphi Class Battlestar
Designed in request for a Battlestar from the Gemenese government, the Delphi class Battlestar (known as the Oranu class for the Gemenon Navy) would be a smaller and less costly design than the Ares and Capricorn classes. It would use off the shelf components of previous ships to lower costs. Four of the class would be procured for Gemenon, with an additional 8 being ordered by the Caprican Navy.
The class would see the removal of the command and control facilities, having a small streamlined CIC similar to the later Valkyrie class. Overall it would have a shorter Fuselage and flight pods than the Ares class, and a smaller power plant setup similar to the Titan class Gunstar. Other notable features would be no onboard Cylon complement, removing all equipment onboard to save space.
The onboard airwing would consist of 100 MKI Viper and a complement of Caprican Raptors. The ships would also have facilities onboard to dock larger shuttles and other spacecraft on its flight deck. The Oranu would operate the older Scorpion fighter, typically carrying 80 to 100.
These ships would surprisingly perform well during the initial Uprising of the Cylons, with most being intact due to not having a Cylon crew complement. These ships would participate through the end of the war, being replaced by newer generations of Battlestar designs.

Helios Class Battlestar
A Command Battlestar designed by the Caprican Navy, the Helios class is based on the previous Ares class Battlestar with several noticeable modifications. The ships of the class would be noted for their split power plants, large communication array, and quadruple flight pods.
Designed to be the flagships of the Caprican Navy, the class would feature a large hyperlink communication tower for communicating and coordinating multiple battle groups at any given time across the Colonial sphere. Usually these ships would have a full set of Flag officers onboard.
The ships would feature 4x full size flight pods, capable of launching 160 Viper MKI, 40 Raiders, and a full complement of Raptors and Shuttles. Armaments would be the standard mix of 1m and .5m DPKEWs for offensive and defensive purposes. Additionally the ships would feature a split power plant for redundancy, made up of 8 Primary and 2 Secondary engines.
Due to the high costs involved with their production (costing almost 3 times as much as an Ares class) only three of the class would be procured before the onset of the First Cylon War. Helios herself would be destroyed during the First Battle of Caprica while defending a group of civilian vessels fleeing the planet. Sol would also be destroyed, ramming a Cylon Basestar after her Battlestar Group was attacked and destroyed. However, Shapash would serve up until the closing months of the war, taking several nuclear weapons during her final battle. She would later be scrapped in dry dock with the end of the conflict.

Ares Class Battlestar
Designed and built almost 20 years before the First Cylon War, the Ares when launched was the peak of naval development in the 12 Colonies. Designed as a hybrid of a Battleship and a Supercarrier, ships of this class would be the primary force projection vessels of the Caprican Navy.
These ships would be a shock to other major power players in the Colonial sphere, with Virgon and others looking to the design as a basis for their own future developments.
Initially designed for a human crew, the class would go through a refit, installing docking stations and equipment for the operation of U-87 Combat and Pilot models, and the removal of several Viper launch tubes for Raider tubes. The shipboard Marine complement would be completely replaced by Combat models.
Other features would be advanced computer networking and an onboard V-World network. With an onboard Cylon crew, it was felt the addition of networking was allowable, due to their resistance to electronic warfare. Along with that, the V-World system of Graystone Industries was added, allowing for training and recreation onboard without vast facilities being added.
Additionally, a powerplant refit

Defender class Gunstar
A light cruiser design for the Caprican Navy, the Defender class was designed as an escort for Battleships, Supercarriers, and the then-new Battlestar. Typically it would have a complement of humans with a platoon of U-87 Marines for shipboard defense.
Shipboard armaments would consist of the standard .5m DPKEW Mount and flak batteries for screening itself and other ships. It also possesses a modular pod mount with several options ranging from an assault pod to an onboard refinery. Usually a standard flight pod would be equipped for operation of Raptors.
These ships would see service through the First Cylon War and would still be in a variety of uses decades later, finally being replaced by a larger variant of itself, the Titan Class. These would be popular with civilian shipping lines and the Merchant Marine for their robust and adaptable design. After the Fall two of these would be seen in the Galactica’s fleet.

Titan Class Gunstar
Designed in parallel as an escort for the Capricorn class Battlestar, the Titan class (Represented by Centaur) is a larger Gunstar design built for the Caprican Navy as a thru-deck Cruiser. It is based on the much smaller Defender in terms of layout.
Built to use as many common parts as possible, it essentially uses a shortened variant of an Ares class Battlestar flight pod, with 5 Raider and 10 Viper launch tubes on the starboard side. The class’s power plant would also be based on the Ares/Capricorn’s however somewhat reduced in size.
Weaponry would be the standard mix 1m DPKEW and .5m DPKEWs for offensive roles and a network of 30mm flak batteries. Armor would remain also in the standard Caprican layout.

Scapha Class Frigate
Designed for patrol and escort duties, the Scapha class Frigate is a lightweight multi-role vessel in service with the Caprican Navy, with the lead vessel entering service 20 years before the First Cylon War. These ships would be produced in mass and are a common sight in the Helios Alpha system.
They are equipped with six .5m DPKEWs (Four dorsal, Two Ventral) for offensive/defensive work along with fifty six 30mm Dual Flak Batteries (22 Dorsal, 22 Ventral, 12 split between port/starboard amidships) defensive screening. Additionally the class features a dorsally mounted hangar for the operation of Raptors and other small craft.
The ships would not enter service without scandal however, with one of the project engineers leaking the ship’s blueprint to Scorpia’s military. Nevertheless the ship would see widespread service, suffering heavy losses through the FCW.
