Info: Introduced to the galaxy at large more than forty years before the Battle of Yavin, the V-5 Wasp was at one point one of the main starfighters used by the Judicial Forces during their many duties to safeguard the Republic. Renown for its rugged design, powerful shields and its reliable weapons it was a favorite among the Judicial Forces starfighter corps for many years. The V-5 Wasp was used extensively in the early days of the Clone Wars by both Clone and former Judicial Forces Starfighter Corps Pilots, though it was quickly replaced by the newer V-19 Torrent within only a few months. Despite being sidelined by the V-19 Torrent, the V-5 Wasp would be a favorite for many Judicial Forces-Turned Republic Navy Pilots and would see continued use right up to the end of the war. With the formation of the Empire, the V-5 was officially retired from military service and the V-5 Wasp was put up for sale on the Civilian Market with the Empire's permission after it was demonstrated that it could not compete with the newer Sienar TIE Fighter. That fact did not stop the V-5 Wasp from serving in the Rebel Alliance Fleet for a number of years before being phased out, afterwards it would be found in the hands of mercenaries and pirates for years afterwards. Some V-5's would still be in use more than one hundred years after the Battle of Yavin, though by then it was primarily used in Old Republic Era dogfight reenactments and in pirate fleets.

Info: The Slayn and Korpil V-13 Helix was a pre-clone wars design used initially with the Survey & Patrol branch of the Judicial Forces, it was very well armed for its role and was fully capable of operation for long periods of lime before having to return. During the Clone Wars, the V-13 Helix was primarily used to scout out systems before a larger fleet entered the system and if met with hostile forces it would engage in a running retreat back to the friendly fleet. After the Clone Wars the V-13 was retained for a number of years before being phased out for larger patrol corvettes and the Empire's entire arsenal of V-13's were placed in storage, four years later the location of the V-13's was discovered by Rebel agents. In a surprise raid on the system on which the V-13's were stored, the entire collection of V-13 Helix's were extracted and evacuated alongside numerous other Old Republic craft including several large vessels. The Raid also resulted in the system governor being executed for his incompetence, what wasn't stolen was destroyed shortly thereafter and any Rebel sympathizers left on the planet were rounded up by imperial stormtroopers for 'screening'.

Info: The V-15 Vanguard was a Pre-Clone Wars design by Slayn and Korpil, a precursor to the V-19 Torrent starfighter. The Vanguard was design to keep pace with the fastest starfighters of its time and deliver a knockout punch to the fighters that had been stripped down to allow for more speed, the Vanguard did not do this as it used a pair of high thrust engines capable to propelling it forward with ease despite its heavy weapons loadout. While the Vanguard did possess a hyperdrive it was a slow but reliable Class 15 model and while it wasn't ideal for the task, it was all that was capable of fitting in the limited amount of space available on the Vanguard. The Vanguard was used from the start of the war as the first Republic Interceptor, by the end of the war it was one of many but it was the most heavily armed. After the wars end the V-15 Vanguard was retired from service, this did not stop the Vanguard from being snatched up by the Rebellion en mass when they became available. The V-15 Vanguard would serve with the Rebellion for a number of years before being sidelined by the newer and better suited A-Wing series, despite this the V-15 Vanguard would remain in service for a number of years further.

Info: Armed with two heavy laser cannons, four medium laser cannons, four multipurpose launcher, and a rear mounted droid brain operated quad light laser cannon turret. The V-24 was at the time of its introduction one of the most heavily armed starfighters in use by the Republic, combined with its heavy deflector shielding and its on board Class 5 Hyperdrive it was an ideal fighter to perform the role it was designed for. However it was only in use for a few months before the fall of the Republic, the V-24 Raider would remain in service with the Empire for a full decade before the V-24's were mothballed and placed in storage. About two years later the location of the old V-24's was sold to rebel agent by a corrupt Imperial Officer for a hefty sum of credits but while the officer had believed that the V-24's had been in poor condition, the fighters were in fact in near-perfect condition and as a whole were worth more than the Rebels had paid the Imperial Officer. In the service of the Rebel Alliance, the V-24's were used in hit-and-run attacks against Imperial convoys and against a variety of Imperial facilities for a number of years. The V-24 Raider, despite having been upgraded repeatedly by both the Empire and the Rebel Alliance began to show its age during the Battle of Bakura. The V-24 was full retired shortly afterwards, though a number of V-24's would find their way to various other organizations and some would be converted into civilian craft.

Info: The D-23 Heavy Fighter/Bomber was a continuation of the D-19 Series of Heavy Fighters, it featured a heavier arsenal and a greater payload than the older D-19. The D-23 was intended for the Clone Wars as an alternative to the Y-Wing but the war ended before the D-23 could begin testing and after the Tri-Fold Rebellion, the D-23 was restricted from being sold due to it being designed for open warfare. These restrictions did not stop the sale of the D-23 behind closed doors though as a large number would be purchased over the years and decades by a variety of factions and organizations while SubPro was forced to produce the 'Empire Friendly' E-Series of Fighters to keep up its facade of following the new Empire restrictions. While the Empire did learn of the treachery of the Sublight Products Corporation eventually, it was a decision of Darth Vader to allow them to continue selling them in secret in return for several Free D-23's for Imperial pilots to fly and train against for future combat. In a strange twist of events, an empire wing of TIE Bomber Pilots would switch from the imperial Standard TIE Bomber to the D-23 due to its better survivability and even Darth Vader himself was rumored to have had a heavily modified and customized D-23 made specifically for his personal use.

Info:Highly regarded in the early years of the Empire's rule for its high speed and decent maneuverability, the E-5 was designed for pure dogfighting engagements. The E-5 Series I was the first model of the E-5 to be used and among the first truly successful designs of SubPro's E-Series, it would be retained for a number of years but would be sidelined with the arrival of the new Sienar TIE Interceptor. Despite this the E-5 would be used in backwater worlds where the E-5's shields would be highly appreciated over the TIE/IN's lack of shielding, a large number would even be used on various Imperial and later Imperial Remnant worlds to train pilots to handle more advanced fast moving fighters. The Series I E-5 would officially be retired from military use by 0.5BBY in favor of the much more improved E-5 Series II, many of these Series I E-5 models would be sold off on the civilian market after stripping them of their military grade equipment just a year later.

Info:The E-5 Series II Light Fighter was an improvement of practically every aspect and capabilities of the E-5 Series I, the Series II was intended to be an alternative to the TIE/IN at the time of its introduction. Serving through the Galactic Civil War from 3 ABY onwards, the Series II was regarded very highly by its pilots and with its state-of-the-art dual twin fire-linked medium repeating laser cannons it was a dangerous foe for any Rebel pilot.

Info:Known to the Empire as the 'E-7 Starbrick' or the 'E-7 Brickfighter', the E-7 was not known for its maneuverability and agility. It was fast in a straight line, could handle itself in trouble and could dish out a significant amount of damage. The E-7 was not widely used by the Empire and was often a last resort craft, even then very few Imperial pilots had much time using the E-7 in combat. The Rebellion had heard of the E-7 but very few Alliance pilots could say that they had encountered one of these rarely used Starfighters, which made it hard to combat when Thrawn used droid operated E-7's in his campaign against the New Republic and it wasn't until after Palpatine's second/third death that the New Republic was able to examine the E-7 Starfighters in large numbers.

Info:The SubPro E-11 Heavy Starfighter was an 'Empire Friendly' design intended for use by the Galactic Empire as an alternative to the Sienar TIE Fighter, while not as efficient or streamlined the E-11 packed a considerable amount of firepower. Capable of being fitted with an upgraded quad laser cannon turret in the rear, two quad or octuple turrets on the sides and four fire-linked laser cannons at the front made the E-11 a threat to any unfortunate craft it came across. It would not see a great deal of mainstream use by the Empire but a variety of Imperial officers would use the E-11 in their forces, Grand Admiral Thrawn had a number of E-11's outfitted with quad ion cannons and a few with octuple ion cannons for disabling small craft. The E-11 had its own hyperdrive and the same shielding that made the D-19 series so powerful, all this made the E-11 a powerful craft. A number would be converted into ground attack craft and used to attack rebel ships before or during their escape, the Executor did originally has a squadron of E-11 setup for this task but the late Admiral Kendal Ozzel had them offloaded as he deemed them unneeded in their mission. Following the fragmentation of the Galactic Empire after the Battle of Endor, the E-11 would become one of the many Imperial Starfighters to serve in the Imperial Remnant and would continue to serve even during Yuuzhan Vong War.

Info: The V-21R Cyclone was a updated civilian release version of the Clone Wars era V-21 Cyclone Starfighter, the V-21R was designed primarily as a dedicated racing craft and strictly for civilian use. It lacked any weapon systems, it had Civilian Grade I armor and shields. These limitations did not stop pirates and Rebel cells for purchasing these Racing craft for usage as armed starfighters, it was capable of matching the RZ-1 A-Wing interceptor in both speed and maneuverability but even with modifications it was less armed than the RZ-1 A-Wing. When not being used as fighters for the Rebellion or by pirates, the V-21R enjoyed a successful career as a Racing craft.

Info: The Koensayr BTA-B1 'Hornet' was a type of Bomber that saw use during the Clone Wars, was was well armed with a pair of launch tubes, two fire-linked laser cannons, twin laser cannons mounted in a turrets, and a pair of retractable concussion missile launchers that could be fitted for anti-fighter or anti-ship duties. The BTA-B1 did not see as much use as the BTL Series Y-Wing but it was well liked for its ability to clear out a region of fighters through the usage of its missile launchers, this fact would be a continued thing for pilots in the Rebellion after the Republic-turned-Empire had it's entire complement of BTA-B1's shipped back to Koensayr for scrapping but were 'Lost' before they could make it to Koensayr and the Hornet would see continued usage in the Rebel Alliance. The Hornet's Nest was a tactic developed by one rebel pilot which involved having six or more squadrons of Hornet's swarm an enemy ship with concussion missiles and torpedoes, it proved highly effective against capital ships that had exhausted their fighter complements.

Info: The T-35 was a light starfighter that was introduced partway through the Clone Wars, it was different as it's main weapons were not hardwired directly into the frame of the Lazer instead could be mounted in wing mount weapon pods. The reason for this was so that the T-35 could be used after the war without having to be extensively reduced in capability to see usage on the Civilian market, the T-35 did see a some usage during the War and was mainly used in large fleet engagements. After the clone Wars, the T-35 was sold directly to both civilians and outlying Imperial worlds alike. The T-35 Lazer did see usage in the Rebel Alliance for a number of years as a multi-role starfighter, by the time of the Battle of Endor it could be found on numerous bases both Rebel AND Imperial. While it was equipped with a Class 2 Hyperdrive, it lacked the capability to plot its own jumps to Hyperspace and was often slave-linked to other Hyperspace capable craft. One such tactic used during the Clone Wars was to have a swarm of T-35's slave-linked to a single Consular class and jump into battle, this tactic would also be employed by the Rebel Alliance as the Imperial T-35's had their Hyperdrive's replaced to allow for a more powerful power plant.

Info: The O-1 Olidex Starfighter was the result of the one-off O-Series, the Olidex was introduced to the known Galaxy shortly before the Battle of Naboo as a hyperspace capable starfighter. It would remain the only vessel of the O-Series from its introduction until the all production and sales were ceased after Sienar Fleet Systems sued Incom for stealing their design for their T.I.E. Series despite the fact the O-1 was older than some Imperial officers, Incom lost the lawsuit due to the fact that Sienar had the backing of the Emperor and Incom did not. After being ordered to destroy their surplus of O-1 Starfighters, the rebel sympathizers at Incom instead arranged for all the O-1 Starfighters to be transferred to the Rebellion for use in the liberation of the Galaxy.

Info: The Personal craft the former Jedi Shadow turned Imperial Inquisitor, Olum's Olidex was heavily modified and very deadly to opposing craft. Olum's Olidex would serve him well until his death in 51 ABY when he surrendered himself to Jaina Solo Fel's custody, Olum Wrexxe passed away in his sleep and became on with the force. His Olidex would placed into museum as a memorial to darker times on Bastion where it would remain for decades, the information stored in its databanks would end up helping teach the future Knights of Fel techniques once thought lost in the purge.

Info: The Incom T-23 'Lyco' Light Bomber was a design that was initially introduced as the main bomber of the Judiciary Forces, by the time of the Clone Wars the T-23 was considered a Light Bomber by the standards of the era. Originally it lacked any armament aside from its twin launch tubes, during the Clone wars it was fitted with the weapon pods of the T-35 series to give the T-23 a better fighting chance. After the rise of the Empire, the T-23 would remain in imperial use in its original form as a training craft for TIE/SA pilots and a few would even be retained for military use in the outer rim on board old Venator class Light Star Destroyers. The old T-23 proved a deadly foe for the early and ill-equipped rebel cells of the time, it wasn't until the advent of the modern rebel craft that the T-23 began to show its age. Rather than fully get rid of the aging T-23's, the vast majority were stationed on Cardia as training craft while a few remained deep in the outer rim.

Info: The Incom T-28 'X-Force' Interceptor was derived from the T-23 series and would be the one first Interceptor type craft used by the Judiciary forces in recent years at the time, originally it was well armed for its time. During the Clone Wars it was equipped with the Weapon pods of the T-35 series and entered a whole new career as first strike interceptor, a role it would serve throughout the clone wars. After the rise of the Empire, the T-28 was retained for use in the outer rim alongside the T-23 Lyco and used to 'discourage' any attempts at rebellion on various worlds. With the introduction of the more modern Incom starfighters in the Rebel forces, the golden age of the T-28 'X-Force' Interceptor began to come to a close and most of the T-28 series Interceptors were reassigned to The Maw system where they would remain for years.

Info: The Incom T-37 'Liberator' was a late Clone Wars starfighter design that would be derived from the T-35 series, it featured the same weapon pod system as the T-35 but featured a astromech docking slot and was more capable of making long range jumps to hyperspace on its own. Like the T-35, the Liberator would find use in both imperial and Alliance forces. The T-37 would be used for a long period of time in both Imperial and Alliance service, it was well loved by all of its pilots for its reliability. A number of T-37's would be extensively modified for a variety of uses and duties, one Imperial Venator would remain a thorn in the Alliance's side for a significant period of time as it used its massive numbers of modified T-37's to raid Alliance worlds and bases after the Battle of Endor. The Imperial Venator 'Judgement' was finally cornered in the Kessel system where it's commander had decided that the mines of Kessel had too many Rebel sympathizers planetside and attempted to take the lives of as many of the prisoners as possible. A squadron of Alliance MC-75 Star Cruisers led by the MC-80 Liberty-Type Star Cruiser 'Admiral Raddus', the battle did not last long a the 'Judgement' was heavily outnumbered and its T-37's were outmatched by the more modern T-65's. The T-37 would continue to serve in both the New Republic and the Imperial Remnant for many years, the T-37's were however finally retired for service shortly after the Yuuzhan Vong War.

Info: The T-38 'Jinx' was an evolution of the previous T-30 series starfighters, it fetured the same hardpoints for the mounting of the weapon pods but also a pair of light laser cannons hardwired into the wings. The Jinx was also refereed to as the Tandem or Twin Starfighter due to its dual cockpit layout, this was done so that the second seat could fulfill a variety of roles but most often was dedicated to handling the weapon pod's mounted weapon systems. The T-38 'Jinx' would see a service in the Clone Wars primarily, after the rise of the Empire it was used to transport high profile officers too and from various locations due to its on board hyperdrive. A number would be obtained by the Rebellion and be used in a variety of roles, though mainly it would used in the same role that the Empire ended up using most of them.

Image
Link: http://gat-x139.deviantart.com/art/Inco ... -697053325
Info: The T-38H 'Hi-Jinx' Heavy Starfighter was a modification of the standard T-38, although identified as a Heavy Starfighter it was mainly referred to that due to its load out of five hardwired light laser cannons as well as it's ability to mount weapon pods. The Hi-Jinx was often used by the Republic to clear the skies over occupied worlds of any offending droid starfighters, it proved highly effective against the unshielded fighters of the CIS and more so against slow moving large craft. After the fall of the Empire, the T-38H was retained as a Heavy Fighter in the early days of the Empire and employed to once against clear the skies over Separatist holdout worlds in preparation for Imperial 'Liberation', a task it performed exceedingly well. A number of the T-38H's would be acquired by the Rebellion shortly after the Empire sidelined the majority of their T-38's in outer rim systems, afterwards many of these old fighters were used to exceedingly well against Imperial TIE/LN Starfighters.

Image
Link: http://gat-x139.deviantart.com/art/Inco ... -697048599
Info: The T-38BR 'Jinx' Reconnaissance Starfighter was one of the first Reconnaissance craft built solely by Incom, the T-38BR was practically a standard T-38 but it featured a reconnaissance sensor suite attached to the nose of the Starfighter and unlike the previous T-30 series starfighters it had a pair of light laser cannons for offence/defense against enemy craft. After the Clone Wars the sensor suite were returned to Incom to be improved upon and the T-38BR's were converted back into T-38 'Jinx' Starfighters, the sensor suite would be heavily refined over the years afterwards.

Image
Link: http://gat-x139.deviantart.com/art/Inco ... -697046826
Info: Despite being introduced only a month before the end of the Clone Wars, the Incom T-39 'Pike' was considered to be one of the best Starfighters to emerge to meet the threat of the Separatist Droid forces and would see a brief service in the Republic Starfighter Corps. The T-39 was the pinnacle of the T-30 Series of Starfighters and would set a standard for the quality of future Incom designs, it would be used as a measuring stick for many future Incom starfighter designs including the T-65 X-Wing. After the rise of the Empire, the T-39's were shunted to low risk systems for use in quelling small rebellions. When one of these systems had a brief change of allegiance, the system's entire complement of T-39's were stolen by rebel agents and evacuated from the system. These T-39 'Pike' Starfighters would serve in the fledgling Rebel Alliance's Starfighter corps for many years afterwards and although the majority were placed in storage shortly after the Battle of Endor, a few notable squadrons few T-39 Pike's for several years.
