I made some further changes to the battlecruiser's design. In the Final Yamato gallery on CosmoDNA the mechacolle card art for the battlecruiser had a six-mount missile launcher behind the turrets, similar to the destroyer. I decided to use that to fill out the empty spot. I also disliked how the bridge superstructure looked, so I squashed and fine-tuned it a bit.

See those ships look pretty good like that.

Had a go at a Final Yamato-era refit of the Dreadnought-class (I refuse to call it the Dreadnaut). Main 2 differences are the "updated" turrets and changing the engine to the newer EDF aesthetic.

So I finally found a good source for 2202 Yamato. It's not completely accurate, but it's good enough.

The differences I've found between 2199 Yamato and her 2202 refit are:
- 2202 bow is much more "blunt" and smoother compared to 2199
- In order to keep the same 333 meter length, the stern seems to have been lengthened in addition to being widened. I'm not sure if I did it right but the tail fins seem to have been pushed back too
- 8 more 75mm double-mount pulse lasers replacing the 2 rear triple-mount ones
- Higher "waterline"
- Grey is a lot more blueish and the window tints are also blue instead of green

And here's a Yamato dolled up in EDF colors, as I'd like to think she'd be if she completed her refit and pressed into EDF service.

Oddly, the "dolled up" version looks more like some of the models and miniatures I've seen painted.

Thanks to Tim Eldred from CosmoDNA, I've got the 2 Andromeda carrier sisters, Apollo Norm and Antares. Their elder sister Andromeda for reference.

In terms of armament loss, in addition to the rear positron shock turrets, they also lose the dispersion pulse laser turret behind the bridge. The main bridge has also been enlarged and moved forward, with the 2 horizontal fins behind the lower bridge removed and the angled fins' angle made more vertical.

Nice work.

First ten minutes of episode Three with new OP sequence.

Not sure exactly what is going on.    What we would call Brumus is about to be attacked.  Kodai gets a bunch of exposition on Telezart, Teresa, and that Gatlantis is nearby that location.  Then a hidden secret, possibly a side effect of the Cosmo Reverse system, or perhaps a corruption of it by the Earth government to build ships?

Yamato vs Andromeda.

First good looks at the Graviton Spread Launchers, and the high rate of fire from Andromeda's shock cannons.

Also Yamato's ARGO system.

I am not sure what the bottom part being lowered is for. Best guess is recovery, since the upper and middle launch tubes easily launched all its fighters in about 15 seconds.
180 Cosmo Falcons.

It seems they didn't quite complete Yamato's refit before they left. There are things to complete inside while they are heading out. The wave motion shielding is not completely finished before they leave. They might also have other little problems with some systems.

We do find out that warping into a gravity field effects the ship's gravity systems and thus also effects the wave motion engine systems, thus cutting out the shields and shock cannons for a time. The auxiliary engines are more than enough to power the ship, and her fusion shells and missiles (along with her fighter wing) are generally enough to deal with typical problems. Like enemy fighters and destroyers. Even the suicidal kinds.

Yamato as of her arrival around Planet 11 seems to have 40 fighters onboard (unless she still has a Cosmo Zero or two tucked away onboard), with some taking up the side hanger spots for auxiliaries. 38 Cosmo Tiger IIs (possibly multiply variants of that design as we don't see them all up close, and a few in the distance shot could have had turrets), 1 Cosmo Tiger I Prototype (Yamamoto's fighter), and one Gamilas fighter (DWG262). I don't know if she is carrying any auxiliaries, though she could have gotten some before leaving the Jupiter area from Andromeda.

Know any good vids that showcase some battles from 2199?

Some:
Battle of Pluto (space scenes only) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSrYskeie-s

Final assault on Pluto Base: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvl6uVweAhE

Dommel's fleet verses a Comet Empire fleet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azZKfrepGSU

Fighter combat at the Rainbow Star Cluster: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8b6q0swc8MM

There are of course several other battle scenes, but these were the easiest to find. Others tend to be clips with music.

Some of just the ships of the Gamilas Astro Fleets:
