That ship has good lines!

Agreed, I'd love to see what it looks like from above!

Thats actually what I dislike the most about side on only drawings (or top down only for that matter), you only get to see half the ship, it doesn't mater how good that half is, it's still just half the ship, and never tells the whole story. :(

It is a great looking ship though! :D

Side Note: in it's green paint it actually reminds me of a Zentraedi design

Awesome work Zageroni! Just because I'm curious, have you been on the Battleships Forever forums?

Finished up the Kisaragi. The Calakmul should be the next canon design, but don't expect that any time soon.

UNCF cargo freighter
Length: 220 meters
Armament:
1x triple-mount magnetic harpoon turret
3x single-mount turrets

Kobayashi provided the primary armament and length on Twitter, however I don't know what the 3 turrets around the bridge are. Any ideas? I've been thinking either shock cannons, pulse lasers, or a smaller kind of magnetic harpoon.

Since my progress on the Calakmul is slowing down due to the quality of my references, how do people feel about me starting a series of aircraft pictures similar to my ship ones? They'll only be the top view, but I'm gonna try to add more detail to them than I had on the ships such as the decals.

So I'm not too much a fan of the Dreadnought's 2202 length, so I went and fiddled with the design, taking inspiration from the work of this modeler:
http://www.geocities.jp/dourakuoyadi/ne ... 2202-1.htm

I moved forward the intake to in front of the A turret to match with Andromeda, and lengthened the portion of the bow in front of the intake. The stern was also lengthened slightly. The new proportions increased the length to 275 meters, which I then scaled upwards to an even 300 meters. This gives the Dreadnought a nice size that matches up with the other battleships while keeping the WMG opening about the same size as Andromeda's. Coincidentally it also more closely matches the original EDF battleship's proportions. I'd think with the increase in size the caliber would similarly increase from 305mm (12 inch) to 356mm (14 inch).

Here's it with Yamato and Andromeda. Feels a lot better side-by-side than 2202's.

Image

Also with this Dreadnought's size, I'd have the battlecruiser be around 250 meters while the patrol cruiser around 200 meters. Not sure on the escort frigate or the destroyer. Here's how they'd look in comparison using original series images.

So I finally powered through and got work on the Calakmul finished.

Here it is in a shade of green that fits more with other Gatlantis ships.

And here it is with Earth and Gamilas's largest capital ships.

Assuming neither Andromeda nor the Calakmul can use their super weapons (WMG and Lightning Swirl Gun respectively), how would you rate these three's combat effectiveness?

Andromeda for the win...it has the writers on its side.

Depends greatly on just what other armaments the Calakmul is armed with and just how strong its defenses actually are. Does it have shields? Does it have really strong armor like the Gamilas fleet battleship? How strong are its normal weapons? Does it have missiles?

The Andromeda is supposed to be armed with a lot of missile, plus the shock cannons are really powerful and/or rather rapid fire capable on Andromeda. She also has those graviton launchers and her effective wave motion barrier. And that's not even getting into the wave motion guns.

Got the Gostok done! With this, I've done more or less all of the 2202 mecha I have the material for. This is one of my more inaccurate ones, especially towards the back as it was very blurry on my reference image. I do hope we get to see alternate armaments for the Gostok aside from the big mace thing they have in chapter 4 since that looks lazy.

Image

Here it is in colors that match the rest of the other Gatlantean ships.

Lascaux and Gostok comparison.

This also means my definitive size chart is finished. Warning: really big. Just a link to it since it's very large.
