have you ever seen a fighter with the guns mounted to the wingtips? The designers always try to get the gun as ceterlined as possible (Bf109, P39, P38, A10, Su-25, F16, F 89, F18.....)

And yet the majority of the fighters who broke the back of the German and Japanese air arms didn't follow this...they had their guns mounted in the wings.

and they had them there because it was cheaper, because then you need no synchronisation, and therefore their quantity made the difference, as did the quality of the american and british pilots, but for a startup pilot a centered gun mount is a lot easier to work with.

and to bring it back to what I was saying:
They did not have their guns on the wing-tips!, the mustangs gun were mounted joust outside of the propellor circle, same for the spitfire, but they were mounted as far inwards as possible, that is what I wanted to say.

The Awing, Xwing, Bwing, ect all have tip guns, and the Xwings are even harmonized WWII style. Its not a good idea but there are plenty of examples in scifi.

I remember that the guns of the star wars fighters, at least in the games converge at target distance (Xwing alliance: when you shoot at a close target and miss it, your firing beams cross over), and again, the TIE fighter, the Naboo Starfighter, the Y-wing fighter all have relative central guns, while the A- wings guns are adjustable (rotating, lateral). And I rather think SW is no good reference, because the ships have been made to look good (Star destroyer bridge and shield generators(I buy the bridge on the home one, because she was a civillian ship), neck of the Nebulon-B Frigate, Millenium falcon cockpit, AT-AT, AT- ST, B- wing, although it is my favorits SW fighter/bomber)

Wing mounted guns of the WW2 era and before are zero'd to converge at a certain distance from the plane for accurate shooting.

In Star Wars it's specifically mention in novels and games that the wing tip cannons auto zero in reaction to the targeting computer to converge at the range that the target is currently at.

The way I see it, lasers and blaster have different requirements to the projectile weapons we currently have, in Star Wars especially on the Rebel side there's size and heat concerns (they couldn't afford or source the top end miniaturised military tech so had to go for black market and bulkier tech).

Also most of the fighters nowadays only use the cannon as a last ditch weapon, not as a primary offensive weapon, except the A10 of course, but still missile and bombs and rockets are generally used first.

nice big ships!, the small ones are also cool!

The only problem I see are the assymetrical turrets, not that they are assymetrical is my problem, but that you have mirrored them, because so you have to built two versions of this turret.

the coolest detail on the last ship is, what I think is the bridge, could you maybe post a screenshot of that?

How about putting them in an angle/ making them foldable?
