You mean the side engine's main intakes?

I think that's what Raz is talking about, Boss.
Yeah, that's what I was referring to. I had meant to say intakes in my head but was a little too overtired for it too go through it seems. Chalk it down to only a couple of hours of sleep from last night, but after a three hour nap to charge my proverbial batteries I can at least make sense now. :blackeye

From everything I've seen they're flat.
Hmm... I suppose. After giving the scene a second watch, it very well might just be a trick of the camera it seems.

It is a bit odd though assigned a Viper pilot to fly Raptors, although we see Viper pilots in nBSG able to handle it easily enough.
We wouldn't swap even put an Eagle pilot into the cockpit of a Hornet with out a load of retraining, and they do the same sort of mission, Viper to Raptor is like F-16 to EA-6B Prowler!
True, but in both nBSG and BSG:B&C the term "Raptor-Rated" has been thrown around a bit. That to me signifies it isn't a commonplace skill set for Viper pilots. It's more likely that Adama received additional training in Raptors during his tenure in flight school.
And as far as his getting assigned to the weasel goes, I think the officer was doing two things when he did it. First, to knock the kid down a peg or two given his attitude. Secondly, considering the officer was short on Raptor pilots and not so much on Viper pilots and the kids rated for the bird... why the heck wouldn't you use him for that?
