After 131 pages, it might be good to make a fresh start. Especially since we seem to be on the verge of massive change.

I was thinking about that, too.

Cool. I couldn't get into the whole d20 iterations of D&D where the designers got stoned on making every class "balanced". Give me good old fashioned ADD1 or ADD2, or for that matter, the original D&D or the Basic-Immortals version.

I'm saddened to see how role playing has been pretty much relegated to one or two large companies with endless pockets and then nothing more than boutique studios. Miniatures and card games have really sucked the money out of the gaming industry (I'm giving you the stink-eye, GW and WOTC!) and as a result the industry is faltering. Then there's the arms race of "presentation." Good grief, back in the day the games were a labor of love and we were lucky if the cover had color and most of the illustrations were pen and ink drawings on uncoated paper.

Then again, I guess we all have a fondness for the old days of our youth!

neat, a dedicated discussion thread! and a brand new section to boot!

hm.... I've been rereading in anticipation of the next release, and to get my own writing jumpstarted back into gear, and I'm wondering what Hamish was doing when the group reached Olympus, I mean I imagine he was as gobsmacked as anyone, but still. This is where Joyce and Colin are.

Here's the other thing who are they REALLY. I mean, they could just be Olympians, or Carians actually. Heck, I'm wondering how much of the Storming Heaven/Pleny team were Olympian/Carian agents.

If nothing else, they genuinely regret what Hamish had to live through, and I wouldn't be surprised if they offered him a new body and a chance to live out the years he missed out on because of the Cylons and the Equals. (mostly the Equals).

Hmm...

I think some of those questions will be answered shortly when I finish Chapter 42.

Now the next question might be, and I do love tormenting you Marcus ;-), is what will happen to Nanai?

I imagine she'll flirt with Hamish some more possibly ask for a body to experience life outside her baseship form. I mean in the canon, the Cylons have the Hybrids running their new baseships, having a biological platform she can move in and out of (provided she has the right 'dock' to keep it warm)

Honestly, Hamish has lived his life so far off the grid, and is FINALLY getting back to doing what he loves, what he feels he was meant to do (slice code and be a nova hot decker) course he's gonna flirt with the schwey data dame.

Hey Kurt, I know what you mean about AD&D, give me the basic D&D any day. I started playing with some college kids and about 40 typeded pages as rules and sometimes we changed the rule as we went. I then went to military miniature war games, alone with all the miniature that I hand painted.

Awaiting your next chapter

I'm about ten pages into the next chapter. We get a glimpse into a day in the life of the Colonial Guard Cutter Wolverine, a Cheetah Class Interceptor...among other things.
