Give me a day or two and it should be updated. I have to add Chapter 48 and the interlude.

OK, I've reread it, so here it is.

Quote:
The box was simple, in a medical supply product sort of way, and bore the legend, “Neuticles: Give your dog back his manhood”.

LoL, I had no idea what that was until I did a Google search for “Neuticles”

Quote:
“We will depart from Okeanos Station immediately…and then, my brothers and sisters, we will give those mechanical abominations hell. We will not go quietly into the night and we will not allow our fellow man to stumble when we can help them up.

“Let’s do the right thing.

“Gaitlin out!”

Quote:
“Dradis contacts!” Hahn announced. “Colonial transponders…sixty in all…the lead ship is the battlestar Concordat!” Hahn declared.

Quote:
“Admiral Vought, Concordat Actual…Admiral Josephus Gaitlin,” Gaitlin replied, his voice sounded strong and sure to Hayes’ ear despite the crackles and pops from the encryption. “The Colonies are under attack and it is our duty to defend them.”

Hayes saw the tension drain from Vought’s shoulders. “Joe, I’m glad to hear that. What say we head over to Canceron to see what we can do to lend a hand?”

“It’ll be my pleasure, Admiral,” Gaitlin replied.

I think Cronus might be in for a bit of a surprise when fewer ships arrive than he expected. I also have to wonder what his allies will do/say when that happens.

Quote:
“Ah, please, ma’am, everyone calls me Rock,” Rockingham said good naturedly.

As in sink like rock, or steady as a rock? LoL

Quote:
McCoy grinned and nodded, “Aye, Commander; fire at will and kill the abomination,” she repeated. “All batteries, fire at will,” she said into her headset.

I don’t know why but every time I hear/read “fire at will” I get the urge to yell, “RUN WILL, RUN.” :P

Quote:
“We lost so much today,” Silver said from where she stood just inside the hatch to the CIC. “So much potential…”

“Yes, we did, Admiral,” Massena said sharply and turned on the Spider Queen. “By conservative estimates, we’ve lost the potential of more than twenty billion Colonial citizens. That’s the potential we lost…not some relic of bygone horrors…”

“Commander! You’re out of line!” Silver barked.

“Admiral,” Massena growled. “You are a guest aboard Nike and while you are an admiral, you are not an unrestricted line officer and have no authority here. I allowed you in my CIC out of respect to Admiral Deguya’s request. Now excuse me, I have a jump to manage,” she said and turned back to the plotting table.

The Spider Queen has a rare talent indeed, the ability to completely and utterly piss off every life-form she meets.

--

Well I was going to say...It’s a pity Adar is still sucking air, things would go much smoother with Magnum running the show...then I read in the comments above...

Quote:
And Adar...I have something special in store for him.

...and suddenly everything seemed right with the world again.

The bit with the Neuticles and the relationship between Carlsbad and Massena is modeled off one that I was witness to some years back. I knew both the husband and wife, and what the husband went and had an affair on the wife is beyond me (or anyone at the office and even the husband when pressed...his only answer was, "Because I could, I guess...") because the wife was the sweetest, nicest, most attractive, damned near perfect woman you'd ever see. He had the affair, then after the divorce was final, the wife seduced and then broke up with the woman the husband had the affair with, and then would send him stuff just to piss him off.

One time the wife sent a video of her using his collection of beer steins as targets for her .22. Then, she had a courier deliver the neuticles to him during a staff meeting. Someone asked her why she did this to him, and her answer was that he let her live rent free in his head and that it wasn't enough to simply take him to the cleaners in the divorce...she wanted to humble and shame him.

And she did.

Was just rereading the last few chapters in familiarize myself again, then went to the warbook and most of the images are to small to really see or read. Is there a way to enlarge the images or is it because of photobucket?

Thanks
Jon

P.S. love the storey.

It's probably Photobucket, unfortunately.

Thanks for the kid words!

out of the sixty Ships that jumped with Concordant, Nine (including it) survived.

Cronus didn't deserve followers as brave and true as that in the first place.

Actually, more than that survived...they didn't take the non-combatants into the fight. But still, they suffered better than 50% losses of combat capable craft, so I think your comment still stands.

Hey Kurt. A little tidbit from the sisters. You got them good, they all asked me" But what about Mother?" You shocked Sister Mary Ellen, with the Charles Chase harem, to quote her what is this with the plural marriages? I told I have no idea.
But all in all they loved it and FYI you got a secondhalf candle Saturday night.

Thank you!

Charles still isn't quite sure what to make if it himself... The thinking, or at least the precedence, is from the movie and series Caprica, that details the development of the Cylons prior to them becoming part of Colonial society. In that, there were heterosexual marriages between two people, but also there was homosexual marriage and both polygamy and polyamory. While I'm not going to get into them in any detail (that isn't what the story is about), I thought that it would be an interesting social/personal issue that he needs to face. In many ways, he broke Alyssa through his kindness and almost paternal approach during her recovery and interrogation. Along the way, Alyssa realized that she could be more than what she was "made" to be, that she could be her own person. And the person who helped her realize this, and eventually made sure she could regain her free will was Charles.

As for Mother, she will be in the next chapter that I'm working on. The first part of the chapter is currently in the works and is...dark. It was something that I felt needed to be written to fill in some background and give insight on why someone was/is the way they are.

A bit more than four pages are already in the can for Chapter 49. Evil has arrived.
