I Started gaming with MERP and 2ed AD&D...
Went to 3.5 later... I don't mind 3.5... tho we play 3.75 as we made some minor changes... Like how certain skills work etc.... My biggest gripe with the skill system is the lack of skill points certain classes get, but that could take a while :)

I'm having more fun running d6 Star wars anyway!!!
We did play Dragon Age for a little while. That was an interesting RPG...

d6 Star Wars rocked! The best part, at least in the beginning, was that it didn't take itself seriously.

I refuse to run d20 Star Wars... even tho I do have some of the stuff.... I much prefer d6.... and I do own a lot of the original books....
While WEG didn't do the best job with some of the ships.... The fluff was great and the rules were fairly simply... unless you played a Jedi...

I've seen rules for a Mass Effect RPG using WEG d6 system. Looks interesting.

I've found it interesting that a lot of what was considered "expanded universe canon" actually originated in WEG's Star Wars game.

I know Zahn made extensive use of the game, with Lucasfilm's encouragement, when writing the Thrawn trilogy.

It's a shame those early designers who worked for WEG never really received the notoriety for their creations. I think my favorite book they put out had to be a tie between the Corporate Sector Authority and the Imperial Sourcebook.

okay I was rereading the latest chapters of Hecate, and this popped into my Tumblr feed and I'm like.....huh..... and my brain processed the idea of these as Communion/ Union Dress uniforms, some of them anyway.

The fourth and second to last seem like uniforms that Virgon Imperial Viper Pilots might wear.... but that's just muh brain going 'antsy

Very nice pics! The uniforms the Communion wears are more of a blend of several services' WW2 German uniforms (SS and Luftwaffe - the leg stripes, button hole ribbon, and color - black). The Earth Union uniforms are patterned on US Navy uniforms used during most of the 20th Century; khaki top and bottom with appropriate trim. Mess Dress for the Communion is, as their duty uniforms, based on WW2 Germany while the Union's are based on US Navy. This isn't to say that they're direct copies of these uniforms as there are differences and no good guy or bad guy vibe should be automatically attached, either.

well yeah, I mean the SS were... well the SS and the Luftwaffe... did .... bomb Britain... like a lot of it... But when you get down to it, MOST of the German forces weren't 'Nazi' forces.

It's just, one day you wake up and your old government's gone, and the new one had LOTS of tanks and machine guns....

and you know if you don't sign in at the a rally, you're gonna have a bad time....

but yeah, I just saw that and it was while i was catching up on the story....
